CASE STUDY | LEADERSHIP TOWN HALLS

Global Town Halls &
Leadership Visibility

Strategic Focus: Designing leadership moments that bring a distributed organization together.

TL;DR

Designed and launched the company’s global town hall program, developing the agenda, messaging, and experience that helped leaders communicate directly with employees at scale.

To protect confidentiality, company names have been anonymized. The scope, complexity, and outcomes reflect real-world internal communications work.

The Situation

The company had recently doubled in size and transitioned to a fully remote workforce. With employees distributed across the United States, there was no established forum for leadership to address the organization directly. The CEO wanted the first company-wide town hall to feel impactful, not simply informational.

The Challenge

The organization had never held a structured, company-wide virtual town hall at this scale. Leadership visibility was limited, and employees lacked opportunities to engage with executive leaders outside of their immediate teams. This first event would set expectations. It needed to:

  • Reinforce leadership transparency

  • Create connection in a newly remote environment

  • Feel intentional and professionally executed

  • Establish a repeatable model for future growth

It wasn’t just a meeting; it was a defining leadership moment.

My Role

I partnered with the CEO and COO to design the structure and experience of the event. I was responsible for end-to-end execution, from agenda development and narrative flow to creative production, rehearsal management, and live facilitation.

What I Did

Shaped the Agenda & Narrative

  • Partnered with the COO to define content and flow

  • Structured updates to balance business priorities with engagement

  • Ensured alignment with leadership messaging themes

Created the Opening Experience

  • Concepted and produced an abstract video inspired by “A Million Dreams”

  • Designed the visual tone to reinforce the company’s growth narrative

  • Built anticipation by playing the video as employees joined the Zoom call

Executed the Event End-to-End

  • Created the full presentation deck

  • Sent organization-wide calendar invitation

  • Coordinated logistics and technical setup

  • Led executive rehearsal

  • Facilitated the live event from start to finish

Designed for Engagement

  • Closed the town hall by inviting employees to turn cameras on

  • Created space for live Q&A

  • Encouraged informal connection to reinforce culture

The Outcome

  • Successfully launched the organization’s first structured, company-wide town hall during rapid growth and remote transition

  • Earned strong executive endorsement, reinforcing confidence in the format and approach

  • Established a repeatable model for future leadership town halls

  • Recorded and archived the session on the intranet, extending its value beyond the live event

  • Incorporated the recording into employee onboarding

  • Reused the opening video in a subsequent town hall when the organization doubled in size again, anchoring the company’s growth narrative
